Driver Drowsiness Detection uses cameras, eye tracking sensors and other hardware to monitor visual clues that a driver may to feeling drowsiness. The systems can also monitor driving input behavior to notice when there are erratic steering movements, pedal use and lane deviations.
Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is a safety system that can identify when a possible collision is about to occur and responds by autonomously activating the brakes to slow a vehicle prior to impact or bring it to a stop to avoid a collision.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) is designed to help you back out of spaces where you may not see approaching traffic. You will receive a warning alert if an approaching vehicle enters the rear cross traffic alert detection areas.
Parking Sensors Assist is an automated parking aid that helps drivers park with greater precision, using guidance system technology that rivals ultrasonic and other camera-based solutions with superior, advanced technology.
The Blind-Spot Warning feature will warn you if a car – or sometimes other objects – is in your left or right blind spot. Warnings will appear in your sideview mirrors or in the windshield frame. Some advanced versions of this feature may give you an audible warning (or other type of warning) if you use your turn signal and there is a vehicle in your blind spot.
Forward Collision Warning will alert you of an impending collision with a slower moving or stationary car in front of you. What It Does: Designed to alert you to a hazard ahead so that you can brake or swerve in time.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is a system designed to help road vehicles maintain a safe following distance and stay within the speed limit. This system adjusts a car's speed automatically, so drivers don't have to.
Pedestrian Detection uses sensors, cameras, and artificial intelligence to identify pedestrians near vehicles. By analyzing the surrounding environment, the system can recognize human forms and movements, helping to prevent or mitigate potential collisions between vehicles and pedestrians.
With lane departure warning systems, a warning sound will be set off each time your car moves off the lane without a turn signal on. Some vehicles also come with a feature called Lane Keep Assist (LKA). This system can actually steer the vehicle back into the center of the lane, in an event where you might not be quick enough to respond yourself.
Adaptive Headlights adjust to changing roadway conditions – such as curves – to better help illuminate the roadway along your path.
The Left Turn Crash Avoidance feature monitors traffic when the driver makes left hand turns across the flow of traffic. The vehicle will automatically brake if this feature detects a possible collision.
The Obstacle Detection System uses ultrasonic sensors mounted on the front and/or rear bumpers. These sensors can measure the distance between your car and nearby obstacles directly around the front or rear bumper. The driver is alerted by beeps or the dashboard display.
Brake Assist adds additional braking power to your car during emergency stops. This feature is designed to help drivers apply full emergency stopping power in a panic-stop situation. If Brake Assist detects an extreme rate of pedal application and pressure as the result of a sudden stop, the system applies full braking force to help stop the vehicle in the shortest distance possible.
The Bicycle Detection warning is a feature that alerts drivers when a bicycle has been detected. Some systems can only detect bicyclists when traveling directly in front of the vehicle and when moving in the same direction.
The Back-up Camera, also called reversing camera or rearview camera, is a special type of camera attached to the rear of your vehicle. It helps you see the area behind your car when backing up. It often provides more visibility behind your car than you can get by turning your head. This added visibility can help prevent a crash when backing up.
